Engineering Brief
The NT3H2111/2211 is a second-generation connected NFC tag combining a passive ISO/IEC 14443-A / NFC Forum Type 2 Tag interface at 13.56 MHz with a contact I²C slave interface (up to 400 kHz). It features 1 kB or 2 kB EEPROM, 64-byte SRAM for fast pass-through mode (4× faster than first generation), energy harvesting output (up to 15 mW at typical 2 V), password protection, memory access configuration, and an ECC-based originality signature for anti-cloning. Operating from -40°C to +105°C with 50 pF input capacitance, it enables low-cost, low-power IoT connectivity, bidirectional data transfer, and device pairing/configuration in home automation, consumer electronics, wearables, and industrial applications.
Typical Applications
- IoT nodes and home automation
- Pairing and configuration of consumer electronics
- NFC accessories (headsets, speakers)
- Wearable infotainment and fitness equipment
- Smart printers and meters
- Electronic shelf labels
