Engineering Brief

The MIFARE Classic EV1 4K is a 13.56 MHz contactless smart card IC compliant with ISO/IEC 14443 Type A, offering 4 kB of EEPROM organized in 40 sectors with flexible access control. It features CRYPTO1 mutual authentication, dual-key per sector security, and supports both 7-byte UID and 4-byte NUID options with Random ID capability. Designed for fast transactions (<100 ms), it provides 10-year data retention, 200k write endurance, and operates from -25°C to +70°C. Available as bumped wafer die or contactless modules (MOA4/MOA8), it is widely deployed in legacy transport ticketing, access control, and loyalty applications.
