Sources and technical methodology

Published by Roxtron Limited. Policy updated 17 October 2026.

RFID Datasheet helps engineers find, compare and evaluate RFID and NFC components. Roxtron also supplies RFID and NFC products and receives inquiries through this site. The catalog is a technical reference and a starting point for design decisions.

Source hierarchy

  1. Use the manufacturer's current datasheet, errata and product page for the exact part and revision.
  2. Use the standards publisher for protocol definitions and encoding rules.
  3. Treat distributor and archived documents as secondary references. Check their revision against the manufacturer.

A family document can cover several variants. Memory, package, temperature and security features must be checked against the exact ordering code. An application example is not evidence of certification or a customer's deployment.

What has been checked?

The catalog includes automated discovery and AI assisted summaries. It has not all been independently reviewed. A source link means a document is recorded; it does not establish that every field was checked against that document. Missing source links and blank fields indicate incomplete records.

Automated link checks record HTTP availability. A blocked request can fail even when a document exists. The API field last_checked is a link check timestamp, and generated_at is an export timestamp. Neither is a technical review date. New technical enrichment requires a readable source document; missing values must remain unknown rather than be invented.

Calculator scope

Tools show their formulas, source references and assumptions. NDEF estimates depend on the tag's configured memory layout. The range estimator models tag activation on the forward link; it does not predict the complete backscatter system. Identifier tools validate formatting and arithmetic, not allocation, authenticity or security. Tool inputs are processed locally in your browser.

Report a correction

Use the inquiry form on the relevant chip page. Include the field, proposed correction, official document URL, revision and page or table number. The chip context is attached to the inquiry. Confirmed corrections should update the specification, summary and any affected comparison together.

Reuse and citation

Use the read only API or CSV and JSON downloads. Cite the chip's canonical page, manufacturer source and your retrieval date. Null means unknown or unrecorded, not zero or unsupported. The catalog's attribution permission does not relicense manufacturer PDFs, standards, trademarks or other third party material.

Before design approval

Verify the part number, source revision, lifecycle, electrical limits and required certifications. Evaluate samples with the intended reader, antenna, firmware, mounting material and environment. Record those results alongside the specification used for procurement.
