Engineering Brief

MIFARE Plus EV2 (MF1P(H)x2) is NXP's EAL5+ certified contactless smart card IC offering 2 kB or 4 kB of memory and backward compatibility with MIFARE Classic EV1 while supporting advanced AES-128 secure messaging, ECC-based originality signatures, and Transaction MAC for payment applications. It operates at 13.56 MHz per ISO/IEC 14443-A and ISO/IEC 14443-4, with three security levels (SL0 for personalization, SL1 for MIFARE Classic compatibility with optional AES, and SL3 for full AES-secured operation). Available in both 17 pF and 70 pF input capacitance versions to support standard cards and smaller form factors like key fobs and wristbands, it enables seamless infrastructure migration to higher security with features like Random ID, anti-tearing, proximity check, and virtual card architecture.
