Engineering Brief

The MIFARE Plus S (MF1SPLUSx0y1) is a contactless smart card IC providing a migration path from MIFARE Classic 1K/4K to AES-128 secured systems. It operates at 13.56 MHz compliant with ISO/IEC 14443 Type A and supports three security levels: Level 0 for personalization, Level 1 for backwards compatibility with MIFARE Classic using CRYPTO1, and Level 3 for full AES-128 authenticated and encrypted operation. Available in 2 kB or 4 kB EEPROM with sector-based memory organization, it supports communication speeds up to 848 kbit/s, multi-sector authentication, multi-block read/write, and features 200,000 write cycles endurance with 10-year data retention at 22°C.
