Engineering Brief
The NTAG I2C Plus (NT3H2111/2211) is a second-generation NFC-I2C bridge IC combining a passive NFC Forum Type 2 Tag interface (ISO/IEC 14443-A) with a contact I2C slave interface. It features 1K or 2K bytes of EEPROM, a 64-byte SRAM buffer for pass-through data transfer, and energy harvesting capability providing up to 5mA at 2V from the NFC field. Enhanced security includes 32-bit password protection, ECC-based originality signature, configurable memory access control from both interfaces, and field detection output for event signaling and synchronization.
Typical Applications
- IoT nodes and smart home automation
- Consumer electronics pairing and configuration
- NFC accessories (headsets, speakers)
- Wearable fitness and infotainment devices
- Electronic shelf labels and smart meters
