Engineering Brief

NTAG210 and NTAG212 are entry-level NFC Forum Type 2 Tag ICs operating at 13.56 MHz with 106 kbit/s data rate, offering 48 and 128 bytes of user memory respectively. Both variants feature ECC-based originality signatures for authentication, 32-bit password protection for selective memory access control, UID ASCII mirroring for automatic NDEF message serialization, and FAST_READ commands for high-throughput production environments. Delivered as bumped wafers in 75 µm or 120 µm thickness, they provide 10-year data retention, 100,000 write cycles, and anti-tearing support for critical memory areas, making them ideal for mass-market NFC applications including smart advertising, product authentication, and retail labeling.

Typical Applications

  • Smart advertisement and NFC posters
  • Product authentication and anti-counterfeiting
  • NFC shelf labels and retail tags
  • Mobile companion tags and Bluetooth pairing
  • Vouchers, coupons, and call-to-action applications
  • Out-of-home and print media applications
