Engineering Brief

The RF430FRL152H is a 13.56-MHz NFC sensor transponder integrating a programmable 16-bit MSP430 microcontroller with 2 KB FRAM, 4 KB SRAM, and 8 KB ROM. It supports ISO/IEC 15693 and ISO/IEC 18000-3 Mode 1 contactless communication and offers SPI/I2C interfaces for external sensors. The device features a 14-bit sigma-delta ADC, internal temperature sensor, resistive sensor bias interface, and can operate fully passively (RF-powered) or semi-actively from a 1.45–1.65 V battery, making it ideal for low-power wireless sensing applications.

Typical Applications

  • Industrial wireless sensors (fully passive or semi-active)
  • Medical wireless sensors
  • Battery-powered NFC sensor tags
  • NFC data loggers with analog sensor interface
  • Temperature and resistive sensor monitoring
  • NFC-triggered microcontroller applications
