Engineering Brief
HITAG S is a 125 kHz LF contactless transponder IC offering two memory options (256-bit or 2048-bit) with backward compatibility to existing HITAG 1/2 reader infrastructure. The chip features fast anticollision protocol (100 tags in 3.2 seconds), integrated 210 pF resonance capacitor, and selectable plain or 48-bit encrypted authentication modes. Data rates support 5.2 kbit/s reader-to-tag and selectable 2/4/8 kbit/s tag-to-reader communication with Manchester and bi-phase coding, plus optional Transponder-Talks-First mode for rapid identification applications.
