Engineering Brief

The HITAG µ family comprises ultra-compact, low-cost LF transponder ICs operating at 100–150 kHz with full ISO 11784/11785 compliance and optional ISO/IEC 14223 support. Available in three memory sizes (128 to 1760 bits EEPROM), the devices integrate a tuned resonance capacitor (210 or 280 pF) and support both Transponder Talks First and Reader Talks First modes with fast anti-collision (1 or 16 slots). Security features include a 48-bit UID and 32-bit password with granular memory locking. Designed for extreme miniaturization (550 µm die) and harsh environments, HITAG µ targets animal ID, laundry tracking, industrial logistics, and brand authentication.

Typical Applications

  • Animal identification (ISO 11784/11785 compliant RFID tags)
  • Laundry automation (bulk read of 200+ items, harsh environment resistant)
  • Beer keg and gas cylinder logistics (pallet-level inventory, brand authenticity)
  • Brand protection and anti-counterfeiting (originality signature)
  • Industrial asset tracking (high-density anti-collision, long read range)
  • Access control and authentication (password-protected memory)
