Engineering Brief
The ICODE SLIX-L (SL2S5002/SL2S5102) is an ISO 15693-compliant vicinity RFID IC operating at 13.56 MHz, designed for privacy-conscious smart label applications. It features 512 bits total EEPROM (256 bits user-accessible) with 50-year data retention and 100,000 write cycles, supporting anticollision and up to 1.5 m read range. The chip includes three independent 32-bit password-protected features: Privacy Mode (selective muting), irreversible Destroy function, and EAS/AFI access control. Available as bumped wafer die or XSON3 package with typical on-chip capacitance of 23.5 pF (SL2S5002) or 97 pF (SL2S5102), it offers fast data rates up to 53 kbit/s and custom commands like fast inventory page read for high-throughput applications.
Typical Applications
- Factory automation
- Industrial and laundry tracking
- Asset management
- Libraries and rental systems
- Smart label applications requiring privacy features
- Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS)
